Walking down the aisle and committing yourself to a life of partnership is pretty stellar. That’s big a reason you end up with ton of gifts piled up in your [new] living room. Your friends and loved ones have taken the time to pick out something they think you’re going to love. Or maybe they just blindly picked from your registry — that’s probably best anyway. Either way, each gift comes from a place of thoughtfulness which deserves a proper wedding thank you card. Wouldn’t you agree?

We asked the folks from Zola, an online wedding planning suite, for some handy tips to get you organized. “In order to keep everything organized and stress-free, keep track of the guest list, who RSVP’d, who sent a gift, and what they gave. Zola allows couples to manage their guest list and use its Thank-You Note Manager. This will export a list of which guests got you what gifts and when they purchased them. The general rule is that thank-you notes for shower gifts should be mailed within two or three weeks, and early wedding gifts should be acknowledged before the wedding day. After the wedding, thank-you notes should be sent within three months. It’s important to stay on top of these not only because it’s polite, but who would want that to pile up?!
