June Featured Artist: Viva Greetings

VIVA122DontBeTooLong

The featured artist for the month of June is Carla who is behind the awesome-ness of Viva Greetings.

Born and raised in Mexico City and growing up in a multicultural and bilingual environment to an American mother and Mexican father, speaking and switching in both languages is just the way it is. Why? No sé, it’s just natural. With more than a decade as graphic designer, I have a passion for beautiful and simple products. I was disheartened not to find any that would reflect my heritage and personality. So I started designing my own cards and to my surprise, the response was overwhelming. Hence, Viva Greetings was born.

We asked Carla some questions…

* How many folks are involved in the whole design process?
We work with different freelance designers when needed.

* What are the different roles? (If more than 1 person involved)
Art Director
Freelancers

*Where are your headquarters?
Atlanta, GA

* What’s your favorite card that you’ve designed (on Postable)?
Que Pasa Dude. One of my first designs in my collection when I started my business and won of my top sellers.

* Where do you draw your inspiration for your design?
The culture, sights and colors of Mexico.

* If you had to describe your cards in one word, what would it be?
Fun

*If you could spend a day with any person (dead or alive) who would it be?
Frida Kahlo

*If you had to paint your house inside and out with the same color, what would it be? Why?
Mango Color. It’s a very popular color used as a base for traditional Mexican style homes that not only brightens a space but is perfect for blending with other bright colors.

*What would you choose as your last meal?
Shabu shabu.
